ME AND MY FAMILY

I’m Abbie McKenzie and I love to play music, write, and create.

I’m always learning. There’s never a day I’m not learning. I love school. It is important for me to do my best. What I do in school and what I learn will affect my future. I want to be intelligent, smart, and caring.

I’m 1 of 3 siblings. I’m the oldest. I have a sister named Lily(she’s the middle child) and a Brother(he’s the youngest). His name is Matthew. I love them both. They keep me entertained and on my toes.

My sister has a passion for gymnastics. My brother loves music and gymnastics. they both look up to me. Sometimes it gets annoying because they always want to do what I am doing. But all they really want is to be like me.

ME, MYSELF, AND I

I am starting to see what my personality is going to be like when I am a teenager. Some things are just fine. Others, well, a couple characteristics might need a little tweaking! 🙂 I am focused on being a good Christian teenager. I don’t want to be the teenager the world thinks of. It’s hard but totally worth it in the end.

February 2020

It’s almost spring! You can feel it in the air! I have been working on updating this website to make it more easy and accessible. I have been working on plans for the future of this website as well. I would love to share it with all of you!

Right now this website is perfect for all of my needs. But in the future,(I’m talking like a month or 2) I might look into making this a 100% blogging website and switch over to wix for my cooking website. Nothing really against wordpress. Just that wix is more straight through and easier to personalize and create!

Into MY FUTURE: Next year I will be going into 6th grade which means I will be going to middle school. My wish is that I would stay homeschooled but my parents insist otherwise. My mom say it will be good social and lots opportunities for me there. I won’t admit it in person but some of the classes interest me. Like the robotics class and the printing class. I could make merch for all of you! My mom says I should join the choir but I don’t think so. First reason is that it is a male teacher that looks like he might have a little confusion going on with his brain. Second is, I just think it will be too much! It’s my choice and I would rather be in the beginner class so I could be a leader. If it is the same teacher, fine, I’ll join the choir. I’m really hoping it isn’t though.

Thanks for reading this! I hope you enjoyed and learned a little about me!

Below is just a fun little recipe I had fun baking this month! Feel free to try it out!

A Butterscotch/Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Since it’s that wonderful time of the year for baking, Here’s a quick and easy recipe for a chocolate chip of butterscotch cookie recipe! Chewy, soft, and thick this is the perfect combo! Personally, the chocolate chip is better. 🙂 Notes are at the bottom of the recipie. I’d advise you read them before hand

Ingredients:

Makes 16 Large Cookies Time about 30-40 minutes Prep: 5-10

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup butter, melted
  • ½ cup ) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 – 1¼ cups chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup walnuts, toasted and chopped (optional)

Directions:

  1. Mix together your flour, baking soda, and salt. Set to the side
  2. Next, melt your butter in a large bowl. After melted, add in the sugar. (Brown Sugar or regular is fine. I prefer brown.) Wisk in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. After, Mix your flour mixture and wet ingredients together.
  4. Now, chill it for about 20 minutes for flat cookies. For not flat cookies skip this step.
  5. Preheat your oven to 325F/165C. Grease trays.
  6. Make balls with the dough and put them on the greased trays. Each cookie should be about 2-3 tablespoons.
  7. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until brown around the edges. Let cool for 10 minutes on tray then transfer to cooling rack.

Notes:

Step 2: The Brown sugar gives the cookie a better color when done.

Step 2: If you like chewy cookies for this recipe do 1 egg and 1 egg yolk instead of 2 eggs.

Step 4: After chilling if the dough is hard to work with you can leave it on the counter for 5-10 minutes.

Hope you enjoyed this recipe! I will soon be posting a video on my youtube of me making this recipe.
